About The AYF

Originally the AYF was called "Anti Yaoi Fans" and was just supposed to be a place where people who were anti yaoi a chance to see that they were not alone. That was back in 2005 when the internet was smaller than it is now and people were in general polite when dealing with each other. Yaoi fans themselves were a large fanbase but they were definately not in the majority.

Fast forward to the current day. Yaoi fans now comprimise a vast part of the online and offline anime, managa, and video game fanbase. In fact it would probably be fair to say they are in the majority, or at least they talk so loud everyone thinks they are the majority. Yaoi as a concept has infiltrated fanart and fanfiction and shown up on fansites as "truth" when in reality it usually is different from the original plotline. If you go to 99% of the message boards on the internet and even mention you don't like yaoi you are going to get flamed, banned, and slapped with all sorts of mean names.

So now it's time to fight back. This site isn't going to try to be all "nice" about anything anymore. We hate yaoi, and we aren't going to apologize about it. If you don't like that fact, we don't care. We aren't here to encourage "discussion" between the two sides because in our experience such a thing is pointless. we do NOT join as a group and go around flaming and bashing yaoi fans in their natural habitat. We do NOT send nasty/mean emails to yaoi fans despite the fact that we've gotten emails from those same fans ourselves. We aren't anti yaoi fans themselves. We just don't like a particular genre they are so fond of.
